Cold War/ Civil Rights Exame. Essay 2

Martin Luther King Jr. Was a peaceful right activist. He believed that without violence they could accomplish civil rights. He believed doing the exact opposite of violence, that love would accomplish this because he saw that when people relize all the color folks show is love and peace and the white man realize all they have done is shown hatred, abuse and racism that guilt would take over them. That the white man would realize what he has done wrong and would come to senses that the coloreds are people just like them with equal rights. King Believed that through love, peace and the power of words he could make the black man free.

Huey Newton was part of the Black Panthers, a violent group who look towards violent as the only way of freedom. Not just all violence but smart too, they had set up a food program to feed both black and white kids who had no food, a good meal. This is what put some white people on their side, this group was feeding their hungry kid. Any parent would support a group feeding their child. This was a good manipulation to get people on their side. Huey Believed that peace would not stop the white man from violent aggressions, and racism. He believed they needed to get it by force, to show the white man the the blacks will not tolerate anymore of it. He believed that if we showed violence toward them, they should show violence towards us; to give us our own medicine. Huey Believed the violence would make the black man free.

Malcolm X. was more towards violence in the begining of his journey. He felt that since us whites show violence towards them that they should show violence to us just like Huey Newton. But he then took a journy to Islam to find his true self and once he did he realized that peace is the way to his goal. His perspective then changed form the way of Newton's to they way of Kings.

Cold War/ Civil Rights Exame. Essay 1

When technology started to become more advanced we started to make bombs, put satellites into space. In the 50's and 60's this is an astonishing accomplishment. Once this happened we started a race with the Soviets to become the best with who has more satellites in space; and who's technology is better. Once we figured out how to put them in space, we decided to find out what we could put into them to advance our knowledge of space and earth alike.

This changed history cause now we can use this tech. to spy on people places and things without even going there. We could just send a satellite over to China or Russia or any where else we needed to send one to navigate our men through hostile area, to locate artilary fire, and all kinds of things that would help us. The country with the satellites in the sky will have the power to control the earth.

What's Next

We went to space because we wanted to beat Russia in technology because we were afraid of them having power in space; we believed that we needed to become more powerful than them. We engaged in the space race because we needed to have more tech. in space. I believe it was a waste of time because we could have used the money for better purpose than trying to beat Russia in a race to get satellites that do nothing besides orbit the world. We have starving homeless people that need money but we spent it on space because we needed to be better than Russia. Satellite’s now give us valuable info now a day because we use cell phones, and internet. We have lots of things that run off satellites but back then we had nothing that ran of a satellite we just put it up there to show we can, it had no use to us then like it does now. Yes space exploration is valuable but the satellites didn’t do that back then they were just a limp object in space, they we could monitor, it had no real purpose than to say hey look what we can do.

The next thing we should explore is our planets resources; we need to find better and more plentiful fuels to run off from. A new source of energy for homes, towns and city’s. We should explore the core of our earth to find what’s in there that could actually help us rather than walking on the moon or looking at Mars which does not help us one bit. This planet is what we need to find out more about, we live on it, we use, we need it to survive. We need to explore the deepest and darkest depths of our Earth to find what it really has, or could help us make to better fuel our country.

Dear Grandparents

In history class we have been studying the J.F.K and the assassination. We have been wondering how this affects our lives and the lives of the people who were alive around the time of the event. I would like to ask you a couple of questions on the event to get a first experience of what you felt to help me what it would be like to have this happen if I was alive. So what do you understand of the murder? I myself understood that it took place in Dallas Texas, during a presidential parade when he was shot. What questions do you still have about the murder? I wonder how this could even happen with all the security measures that they go through to make sure it doesn’t happen. What were you inner most thoughts when you saw J.F.K get shot on national TV. My thoughts now are it was very shocking when you see a president get shot. What do you of the lone gunman who shot Kennedy? I think for one it’s a very stupid act, just because you do not like a president or anyone for that matter doesn’t deserve to get shot. But for one man to do this alone is very brave but also very ignorant. What would you think of our president getting assassinated today in this present time? I think it would be devastating to our country, finally getting a decent president and have him get shot before he can help our greatly fallen country. Well I have given you lots to think about so when you read this take your time and really think about the questions I have given you. I put my answeres to those questions right after them on what I know and believe, so tell me what yours is and maybe we can compare them or we could even have the same on certain Q's. well gram and gramp I'll talk to you all later.

Exame #2-essay 2

George H.W. Bush I believe was the better president of the the three, I like bill too but George had many more accomplishments in major events and had the highest rating in foreign affairs. when we helped Kuwait, we were in and out in four days and got the job done with out costing lots of money and very few casualties.We got the job done. When Clinton was in office we was doing well too, but didn't have to make choices in important situations, he also had scandals. He had faulty real estate dealings in the 1970's and 1980's. Bill was president during the Bosnia war, and the start of the NATO. He has had some events happened, but H.W had more significant events. Goerge W. Bush needs no explanation he has put our country in turmoil. Ever since the war in Iraq he has wasted money and time on things that could have helped us. He has put us Billions of dolloars in dept, jacked prices on everything too, gas, food, oil, etc. I believe he is the worst president I've seen in a long time.

Exam #2- Essay 1

George H.W. Bush Started this whole event by sending a team into Kuwait to help them get rid of Saddam Hussein. Saddam had invaded Kuwait because of he was accusing Kuwait of stealing oil from Iraq. The team we sent was called Dessert Shield, We bombed them for weeks but the war on the ground only lasted four days. This not only angered Osama Bin Laden, But Saddam Hussein was angered too. He felt that we had no business or purpose in taking action in his country, so he planed an attack for the future that would devastate and change many people for the rest of their life's.
Nine Eleven is the event that happened, Saddam Hussein funded and planed the attack himself. George W. Bush was in office when this happened and only months after he started the war on terror, we sent troops over to Iraq and Afghanistan to find the terrorist and capture them. We got Saddam Hussein and hanged him, but we are still looking for Osama. There have been reports that he is around the afghan border.
Which is why I believe the the central front, we keep spending money in Iraq when the man that helped and is a leader in the biggest terrorist group. He is still out there plotting attacks and we are not even putting efforts into finding him, we are putting our effort and money into a place that we don't need to be in, all the terrorist are fleeing to afghan and a major terrorist is around that area.

Book Portfolio #1 Flags Of Our Fathers

"When you go home, tell them for us and say, for tomorrow we gave ours today." This is a quote from Flags Of Our Fathers, by James Bradley and Ron Powers. It is a historical non-fiction that was based on the war that our ancestors fought and died for. With six men who gave the United States hope with one photograph, John Bradley, Harlon Block, Rene Gagnon, Ira Hayes, Mike Strank and Franklin Sousley. This event changed many men especially the lives of those six men, and their historic part left a mark in history forever. The defeat of Iwo Jima, and the flag raising set their mark in history forever. The perspective was from an American Author, about an American event with a one sided perspective of heroes only on one side, ours. This is shown over the fact that the other side had soldiers who died for their country which made them heroes. It was not shown to us as them being heroes for what they did against us as a heroic act
to them.


The theme, is a hero is not described by his morals, but by his actions and choices he makes in the situation he is given. John Bradley said that he was not a hero, the soldiers who never left Iwo Jima are the heroes, he aslo said that he made the choice to help raise the flag as a simple helping hand not an act of heroism. A statement from Admiral William F. "Bull" Halsey " There are no great men. Just great challenges which ordinary men, out of necessity, are forced by circumstances to meet". In a battle, your morals don't have a say in what you do, it's the situation your in were your actions and choices define you. like when two soldiers went down into one of the Japanese underground holes, they were face to face with a Japanese soldier, one soldier was killed, the other reacted and shot and killed the Japanese soldier. He felt bad but he had to do what he had to do or he would have died. In one part, a grenade was thrown, a young man named Jack Lucas, to save his buddys shoved it into the ashed layered ground as another one rolled in, he threw himself onto both, blowing himself up. He survived the blast and lived to tell about it fifty three years later. You have a choice in actions, choose them wisely and no matter what, if its the right choice someone will look up to you as a hero.



Once America saw the photo of the six men raising the United States Flag and heard about the war on Iwo Jima, they all felt Patriotic and gave bonds to help their country in the war they were fighting. This was their choice to make, being a hero to themselves by helping there fellow soldiers in their time of need. Everyone who has made a choice of great magnitude some how has had an effect on history. Martin Luther King Jr. made a choice to protest the problem of racism peacefully and chose to make a speech that in history became one of the most famous speeches of them all. He was considered a hero to his people. When Abe Lincoln made the choice to abolish slavery with the emancipation proclamation, he set the beginning to the end of slavery by a simple act of choice, to slaves he was a hero. If the choices that effected us were never made things could be different, slavery could still be here, Someone's buddys might have died from a grenade, Martin Luther King Jr might not be a holiday or even known if it weren't for him making his speech.



The Author's perspective never focused on the Japanese soldiers who fought for Iwo Jima, who gave their lives for their country and are considered heroes in their eyes. The Author only showed our soldiers as heroes, the Americans who fought for us. No one even considered the fact that the men they were fighting, were fighting for the same reason. That the very man they we were killing were just like them in a way. When the Japanese came at night to kill the Marines they knew they would die, they would be in plain sight for the soldiers to shoot them down. The Japanese came out of there safe zones to try and fight us back and died for their country believing in what they were fighting for. The killing and the fighting was mentioned but never once was it said that they were heroes for what they were doing for their country. In the perspective of the United States and the Author they weren't heroes they were just our enemy that we needed to destroy to win. Perspective is a big part of heros as we may not see someone as a hero because of their actions due to their culture, but that culture may see them as a hero, even a dynasty for their actions. Every one has there own perspectives of what a hero is and does.



A hero is not described by his morals, but by his actions and choices he makes in the situation he is given. If the choices that effected us were never made things could be different, slavery could still be here, Someone's buddys might have died from a grenade, Martin Luther King Jr, might not be a holiday or even known if it weren't for him making his speech. Every one has there own perspective of what a hero is and does. So the next time you need to make a choice, make sure it's the right one and that maybe you could be looked up to as a hero, especially if that choice saves someones life.

Sept. 11. NRC Urges Increased Sercurity

This Article says that the U.S NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Committee) as a precaution that all nuclear plants, non-power reactors, nuclear fuel facilities and gaseous diffusion plants go to the highest level of security. The reason why they have done this is classified. Even though there were no threats of attacking these places they were still concerned that they could be targeted for the highly flammable contents they have. The recommendation was consider prudent because the attacks were on New York and in Washington DC.

I believe that this was a smart precaution, we don't know what they would attack or what they could attack, some of the Power Plants and such could be a good target because they would make a massive explosion. At the time nobody knew what else would be hit so anything that could be targeted should be on alert.

Essay #2

Washington was not a member of any political party, and hoped that they would not be formed. However, one of his friends formed two sections. Secretary of Treasury Alexander Hamilton had plans to build a financially powerful nation, and formed the Federalist Party/Republican. Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson of the Democratic-Republicans, opposed Hamilton's agenda, but Washington favored Hamilton over Jefferson. So these two people started the two parties because both had different ideas.

The first significant parties are Republican, Democratic-Republican. The Democrats- stood for the poor class with low income, They taxed the poor people less and the rich people more who could afford it. Republicans stood for the upper class rich people, taxing the poor people and cutting taxes from the rich. They also tend to have better skills with the crises of war while the democrats have better economic values.

Essay #1

The Articles of Confederation failed because it lacked the properties of what a constitution needs. The federalist felt that the Articles did not have what it needed to become a sufficiently effective government. The Biggest part was those who favored a more powerful central state, was the government lacked taxing authority. It had to ask for funds from the states. Another problem of the Articles was that they did not have the right balance between large and small states in the legislative decision making process. Mainly the Articles just lacked too many important processes and power issues to really be a document that would run our country so they had to make the Constitution.

The goal of our founding fathers during the constitutional convention was to create a document that would give us the bases of our government, with laws, rules, and rights that would make us all equal. This document also set out to have the republican gov. which allot of the farmers who had nothing to do with it didn't like it, that they would have to pay taxes and follow these laws and regulations, so some of them that didn't believe this gov. rebelled against it.

This is why they made the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights Restricts the powers of the Federal Government of the U.S., protecting the rights of all people in the United States, Basically giving the rights of the common people/farmers so they don't fell completely controlled by the Gov.
